Advice!?!? - Recording

Anyone!

Got any advice on recording Vinyl's to your PC - i have a device coming off my mixer booth out going into a USB connection into my laptop which works ok (i think its some sort of sound card)

However, what programs are the best to use to record!?! - i have been using Audacity and recording Vinyls @ 45 and then reducing them down to 33. I have noticed though there are slight skips and jumps in places!? and its not from the turnable?

So. . . any recommendations on programs would be sound! Cheers..

  2. Sony sound forge. Record flat EQ at original speed and key. Digital out from mixer to computer or balanced right/left audio to balanced inputs of sound card. Watch levels for clipping...record as high output as possible without clipping the sound signal. Then cut & edit with light compression if needed.
